Welcome to Simple Truths by Terrie

February 10, 2015

I’ve been given a gift—the ability to read energy. Thanks to this heightened awareness, I’m able to help people expand their understanding and acceptance of their lives.   (In my world, awareness moves everything!)

I have long been asked by friends and clients to share my perspectives online. That’s what the Simple Truths Blog is all about.

Simple Truths are bits of wisdom drawn forth as needed by you, my audience.

Since communication is a two-way street, these written contributions will come out as often as the information comes through me.  Essentially, you will guide the frequency.

If you’d like to receive email updates as new written contributions become available, please sign up in the form to the right of this page.

Ultimately, Simple Truths is offered to help each of us create the grace and ease of heaven on earth.

Have you ever noticed that whatever you put your attention on seems to grow in magnitude? I’ve observed this to be true so many times, with so many people.

As the accompanying flowers portray, your untapped attention mimics a bud waiting to bloom. When you focus your attention, it blossoms into full expression.

Is your attention really that powerful?  Yes!

How can you tell?

Well, it’s actually pretty simple: Everyone wants it!  From babies, family and friends, to teachers, the media and advertisers—your attention is what they’re after.

Once something grabs your attention, there’s a good chance that your time, money and support will follow.  Emotional triggers, such as fear of acceptance, guilt or excitement can lure you into action.  Marketing is a lucrative and well-oiled machine today.

To find clarity around this, I invite you to close your eyes for a moment and feel into the many things that are clamoring for your attention. Be sure to include your thoughts and worries.  How many of these are externally driven? How many of them are internal?

Our culture trains you to put your attention outside of yourself. How can you direct more of it onto your goals?

The simple truth is awareness.

Here are a few tips that will help you follow your attention and promote awareness:

  1. Put up post-its asking, “Where is your attention going?” Place them on your computer, bathroom mirror, in the car and so on. As you read them, simply notice without judgment where your attention has been.
  2. Make a list of two or three tasks you want to complete in your day. Keep them visible, and focus on them. Reward yourself for completing any of them!
  3. Get enough sleep. This makes such a difference in your perspective and choices!
  4. Eat lightly. As you do, notice whether there is an impact on your ability to focus?
  5. Keep a nightly journal, being mindful of where, with whom and how you are cultivating awareness. Then create your list of two or three goals worthy of your attention for the next day. Remember to keep them simple and realistic.
  6. Sit quietly for a few minutes or meditate. Watch where your attention goes, and call it back to yourself when you notice it is no longer focused. By becoming aware, you break patterns and have more of your energy for yourself.

Be patient.  Reprogramming neural pathways takes time. Let your awareness do the work, then experience the change.

Quantum physics has essentially confirmed that everything is connected. Yes, in a real sense, we are all one. Let’s look at a perspective of this truth that supports you in keeping your life simple and productive.

We are creative beings, and as such, we want to express our deepest yearnings. It’s not surprising then that most of us are drawn toward manifesting our dreams.

Maybe you want to create more money, support your health, change your career, get more rest and have more fun—or all this and more. Your lists will be as limitless as your creative nature.

Sometimes, though, life may add more to your list than you counted on. When you consider all the things you want/have to do, it may all become overwhelming.

New Perspectives
That’s when this perspective can be so helpful:  If you focus your attention on one item on the list that you are especially drawn to, this can create a shift that causes all the other items to adjust.

Everything is connected, and enthusiastic attention is powerful and creates momentum. The linear part of our mind doesn’t always understand this.

In fact, the mind may argue with you that the items on the list are separate and have nothing to do with each other. But physics tells us otherwise. Again, everything is connected. I have observed my clients changing one picture or belief, and the configuration of their entire electro-magnetic field changes immediately.

Personal Experiments
I ran my own experiment with this perspective. When checking my list, I was intuitively drawn to getting more rest by going to bed earlier.

I couldn’t think how this would make any difference to the other items on my list. In fact, my mind told me that it would be counter-productive, and I would get less done. Nevertheless, I planned to be in bed by 10PM nightly for a month.

After only twelve days, I noticed I was clearer headed, not snacking mindlessly, had more energy and was more productive.  I was not only sleeping soundly but also falling asleep easily. To my surprise when I checked my full list of other items at the end of the month, many of them had already been addressed or resolved without my attention.

You may have to rattle your beliefs a bit to get your head around this, but I urge you to give it a try. Just put your attention on one area or item on your list that you are intuitively drawn to change and wait for the results.

Focus your attention on shifting that one area. As you do this, gently notice as other things on your list start to move and/or resolve with little to no effort from you.  You’ll be on your way to a simpler, happy life!
